Cellular Shades in Rapid City
Custom Honeycomb Shades Fitted to Your Exact Windows
Cellular shades, also called honeycomb shades, are built from layers of fabric folded into pleats that form insulating air pockets between the glass and your room. Off-the-shelf versions come in fixed widths. Ours don’t. Every set we make is cut to the precise dimensions of your windows, whether those windows are standard rectangles or something far more interesting.
At Gotcha Covered of Rapid City, one dedicated design consultant guides you from the first conversation through installation. The same person who learns your home takes the measurements and sees the project through. No handoffs, no guesswork.

We start with a complimentary design consultation, in-home or office, so we can see your windows in context. Your consultant walks you through the full range of cellular shade options: single-cell versus double-cell construction, cordless and motorized smart-home-controlled cellular shades, fabric opacities, and color choices. No pressure, just information.
Once you’ve made your selections, we handle precise measurements and schedule professional installation. Our installation guarantee means that if anything isn’t right after install, we return to correct it. We also back our work with warranty support and a referral program for customers who send friends and neighbors our way.
Our products come from nationally recognized vendors, so the quality behind each shade matches the craftsmanship of the fit.
Everyday Problems Cellular Shades Solve
A few situations come up again and again when Rapid City homeowners start thinking about window treatments. Cellular shades tend to address all of them at once.
- Early morning light in bedrooms: Room-darkening cellular shade fabric absorbs harsh sunlight rather than scattering it, so a 6 a.m. sunrise doesn’t become your alarm clock.
- Cord safety: Cordless and motorized smart-home-controlled cellular shades remove dangling cords entirely, reducing a known safety hazard for young children and pets.
- Blocked views: Because honeycomb shades compress into thin, tightly folded pleats when raised, they stack far more neatly than wood blinds, leaving more of your window open to the outdoors.
Custom-Fit Cellular Shades for Unusual Windows
Pre-cut shades assume your windows are standard. Many aren’t. Arched frames, circular windows, specialty angles, shallow casings, deep casings: each creates a fit problem a stock shade simply can’t solve. Because cellular shade fabric is flexible, it can be handcrafted to the exact shape and depth of windows like these.
Hard-to-reach windows present a different challenge. Skylights and windows above stairwells are exactly where motorized, smart-home-controlled cellular shades earn their place. You can adjust them from your phone or a wall switch instead of wrestling with a cord you can barely reach.
Kitchens and bathrooms need a different fabric altogether. Moisture-resistant honeycomb material resists warping and mildew in humid conditions, so the shades above your sink or in your bath hold up just as well as the ones in your living room.
