    Julie and John Aronson

    Owner & Design Consultant

Hello! We are Julie and John Aronson, Owners of Gotcha Covered of Monument!

Julie - I was born and raised in a small town in North Dakota - the same town my parents and grandparents were raised. My family home was over 100 years old, which required regular home improvements and a couple of remodels, in which I got to help with the demo, painting, and decorating. I enjoyed seeing these projects through to completion and I believe that is where my passion for interior design began.

My parents worked very hard throughout their successful careers and instilled a great work ethic in me, something I have always been grateful for. When I was 11 years old, my parents bought a movie theater in our hometown and my siblings and I helped them operate it. After a few years, us kids practically ran the theater ourselves! It was an amazing opportunity to have as a teenager to be able to see firsthand how to run a business.

Even after graduating from college from North Dakota State University in Fargo, North Dakota with a degree in Facility Management and a minor in Interior Design and Business Administration, my work experience still played an important role in where I went next. I ended up working at a Bobcat dealership in Southern California, which is where John and I first met!

In 2001, we were married and in 2003, we decided to move our family to Colorado. Since moving to Colorado, we have built a custom home and three self-storage facilities which we own and operate and are currently in the planning phases to remodel our current home.

John - I lived in Southern California for 55 years, loving to surf and spend time in the water. My entrepreneurial spirit took flight at a young age when I started my own business mowing lawns at the age of 10.

As a teen, I worked in my father’s Custom Cabinet and Millwork shop until I graduated high school and joined the US Army, California National Guard. After 6 years, I was honorably discharged and turned my attention to college and business ownership. While gaining a degree in business from Long Beach City College, I started a Mobile Truck Washing Company and received contracts to pressure wash and detail over the road grocery trucks and bakery trucks.

My experience led me to work as a representative for a national construction equipment company, setting up dealers and working with salesmen. Once again, I got the entrepreneurial bug and decided to enter into the Bobcat Equipment Business where I spent 30 years shaping and developing the business and eventually owning dealerships of my own.

After retiring from the Bobcat business, we decided to move to Colorado. We purchased 40 acres of land and decided to build our first Colorado home. Of course, I could not stay retired, so we purchased land and developed three self-storage facilities. We sold our 40-acre ranch and moved to our quiet neighborhood in Monument near two great local golf courses. Someday I think I will actually “retire” and then focus my efforts on playing golf!

Monument has been our home for over 10 years now and we love the open spaces, the friendly neighbors, and the access to the mountains for camping, hiking, and skiing! On the weekends, we love visiting our favorite local restaurants and breweries for some great food and maybe some live music. We are passionate about our family. We have two sons together, and John has three adult children and three grandchildren. Being a part of their lives, watching them grow and develop has been a great joy.

We both love owning and operating our own business and working together. We both feel that are strengths and our life experiences are a perfect blend that set us up for success. Julie’s interior design expertise and organizational skills meshed with John’s entrepreneurial experiences create the perfect working relationship.

Creating a beautiful space and home environment that is functional is very important to us. Our desire is to help others love their homes by making them cozy, comfortable, and functional all while delivering an exceptional customer experience.
